Tonya Davey
Tonya Davey practices exclusively in the area of Family Law,
with an emphasis on negotiated settlements and court proceedings.
In the course of her practice, she represents clients on a
broad range of matters arising out of family relations including
adoption, custody, access, child and spousal support, division
of property, restraining orders and divorce, as well as, marriage
and cohabitation contracts, separation agreements, variation
and enforcement of orders, child protection matters, and guardianship
applications.
Tonya's attention and compassion are consistent with the approach
taken by the other lawyers in our family law group, and reflect
an understanding of the emotional turmoil of the separation
and divorce process for everyone involved. She assists clients
in identifying and prioritizing the issues to be resolved, guides
them in making informed decisions about their rights and obligations
in order to achieve their best possible results, and will facilitate
effective communication and negotiations in order to create
practical and lasting solutions. Tonya recognizes the importance
of negotiating settlements in minimizing the emotional trauma
of separation and divorce. She is skilled in good faith negotiations
which strive for equitable, dignified, efficient, cost effective
resolutions; which maximize results. However, when negotiations
break down or are inappropriate, she will act swiftly and strategically
to protect client's rights in court.
